Schools without grades
Summary of the conclusions/solutions:
Committee 5

Conclusions:
-
We in the committee agree that feedback and grades are both necessary, since grades gives orientation and feedback gives you advice.
-
It is important in order for the students to know how they can develop and improve that they get feedback with every grade they get.
-
The teacher and student should cooperate in order to go through the content within the lessons to reduce work at home.
-
In order to help students in their future decisions, schools should provide students with the opportunity for internships in a gap year. Or let them continue having the opportunity to further specify their education, without having a gap year. This can help the students experience their potential future workplace, and get insight into the reality of their future lives.

Committee 6

Conclusions:
-
Grades should only be given to students of 15 years and older because they are able to handle the pressure, whereas younger students wouldn’t be. It’s important to prepare the students for “grown up life” (life in upper secondary school).
-
We think that grades are to be given at the end of every second month to get an overview of your progress. This removes some of the pressure and stress on students. There should be no grades for assignments and tests, only detailed feedback.
